History of Mount Holyoke College - Mount Holyoke College was founded as Mount Holyoke Female Seminary on 8 November 1837 by educator Mary Lyon (1797-1849), the founder of Wheaton Female Seminary (later Wheaton College). In 1888, Mount Holyoke Seminary received its collegiate charter and became Mount Holyoke Seminary and College; by 1893 the seminary was phased out and the school became Mount Holyoke College.

FROM THE INTRO: Insects On Display was written to be a companion book to my first title, The Insect Book: A Basic Guide to the Collection mount equinox and Care of Common Insects for Young Children (Rainbow Books, Inc.).
